We proudly display the 'patent' signed by President Chester A. Arthur on December 5, 1884, attesting to Cook's purchase of the property. In an unusual historical twist, the Volstead Act was repealed on that same day—December 5---49 years later, in 1933.
"Cook's Flat" is the name we gave this vineyard block when we planted it in 1971
The grapes come from a spectacular ridge top vineyard block named for George Cook.
